Ellen DeGeneres’ Birthday Post For Diddy Surfaces As She Quits U.S. After Trump’s Win; Elon Musk Reacts

American comedian and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, have reportedly left the United States after Donald Trump was announced the winner in the 2024 U.S. presidential election. The couple have expressed deep disappointment with the election results and decided to leave the country after publicly endorsing Kamala Harris.

According to reports from TMZ, the pair has settled in the Cotswolds in Southwest England, approximately two hours from London. This decision, sources suggest, is not a temporary retreat but a permanent relocation. They had purchased property in the Cotswolds prior to the election and have now made it their primary residence.

Ellen reportedly wasted no time putting their Montecito mansion on the market, with plans to list additional California properties in the near future.

Ellen is not the only notable name seeking a fresh start outside of the U.S. after the contentious election. Actress Eva Longoria has reportedly increased her time spent in Spain and Mexico, describing the U.S. as becoming a “dystopian country.”

Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel humorously announced plans to leave during his show, while co-host Guillermo Rodriguez joked about returning to Mexico. Kimmel even cried on air after the results. Cher promised to leave the country after Trump’s win but hasn’t yet.

As the news of Ellen’s relocation broke, netizens were quick to bring up her connection with rapper Seam Combs aka Diddy whom she wished on his birthday in 2016.

“Happy birthday, P Diddy, Puff Daddy, Sean Combs, or as I call him, Cuddle McSnugglestuff. You don’t need to know why,” Ellen posted on Twitter (now X). Diddy is currently jailed in New York on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering.

One post on X even caught Elon Musk’s attention who reacted with an emoji. Many others chimed in sharing instances from the past where Ellen had Trump on her talk show before the latter got into politics. Ellen even jokingly asked Trump to marry her mother. Others claimed that Ellen was aware about Diddy’s parties where underage women were invited as guests.

It’s not just celebrities considering a life abroad. Trump’s victory has prompted a surge in interest among everyday Americans exploring international relocation.

According to Google data, searches for moving to countries like Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and those in Europe saw a significant spike following the announcement of the election results on November 5.
